WE MOVED!

On May 24th, I became Kate Becker…. and so did my business!

Ever since my best friend and soul mate asked me to marry him, I have been dreaming of the day when I would take his hand in marriage and officially change my name to Kate Becker. This, of course, sparked the many questions of what I would do to my business name. People were spectacle about it, thinking that I was crazy for wanting to rename my business after I have finally started to create a name for myself as Kate Harvey. To me, it just felt like the right thing to do, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity for a new beginning. My style has changed over the years and I have grown and evolved into the person I am today. I have learned so much, and I never want to stop learning and bettering myself in all aspects of my life. This felt like the perfect opportunity to turn the page and start writing a new story! Thanks for following me on this journey- my never ending love and thankfulness goes out to each and every one of you!

Farewell

Here we go! This is probably the last post I will be sharing on this blog! This Saturday, May 24, 2014, I take the name of my best friend when we say "I do" outside at my grandparents barn under the oak trees. I am so excited to start this new chapter in our life, and have the celebration of a lifetime with my family and closest friends by my side. Follow me on this journey as I take the leap from Kate Harvey to Kate Becker!

I wanted to leave this blog with something extra pretty, so here it is! The beautiful Monica modeled for me on a gorgeous spring day full of sunshine, fringe, floral crowns, and lots of laughter! I wanted to capture a shoot that resembles my new branding and I couldn't be more happy with the final product! I am so excited for summer and all the beautiful shoots I have to look forward to! Jill + Kyle | March 29, 2013

This wedding was amazing. I feel so blessed to have couples that trust me every step of the way in capturing their wedding, and the anticipation leading up to it. I took their engagement photos last summer, and I thought it was so special how Jill wanted to return to the spot where we did those to reenact some of their engagement photos on their wedding day.

The first photos we took after their first look were also so special. They wanted to take photos sitting in the pew that they usually sit in for church on Sunday mornings. I got to silently observe how they interacted with each other while they were alone in those moments. They whispered to each other as Kyle softly stroked Jill's arm with his fingers… and how Jill so comfortably rested in his embrace and looked him in the eyes as they smiled and laughed with excitement as the day unfolded...

During dinner I got to sit with Christopher, Felisha, Bethany & Alex…. past and future clients of mine. We talked wedding plans and reminiced about the past, and in those moments I looked around and felt so overwhelmed with joy! I was surrounded by such amazing people and clients who have trusted me to tell their story. To let the world view their story through the product of my lens. I feel so blessed, so honored, and so humbled that I have these amazing clients that make my job the best in the world. Cheers to the newlyweds, Kyle and Jill! Happy friday!

The Families of Mini Sessions 2014

A couple of weeks ago I held mini sessions at my studio and I would say they were my most successful set of mini sessions yet! I love shooting in my studio - I think the lights and walls are magical. Come visit me some time soon!!

The Evenson's came to me for Christmas mini sessions in 2012 and I was so happy to see them back. I love Elise and Ava! They are just adorable in their blush dresses. Totally my style.

Look at this adorable little guy! The Maas wedding was one of the first that I captured, now I am photographing their sweet little boy! I love my faithful clients who return to me for such special pictures!

Mini sessions wouldn't be complete without seeing Rachel, Jordan, and little Ian! I hadn't seen him since he was only a few days old! I have NEVER seen such a happy baby! He is all smiles. Their family holds such a special spot in my heart!

Another Reese Family! They also did Christmas mini sessions with me in 2012 and since then they have added the littlest Mya to their family! Love these adorable little girls!

Oh man… this little guy melts the heart. Such a well behaved sweety. Loved the giggles that these guys shared during our session.
